Black silicon carbide is crafted from a fusion of quartz sand, petroleum coke, and premium silica, expertly smelted at elevated temperatures in a resistance furnace. This results in a material with a hardness surpassing corundum yet below diamond, boasting mechanical strength superior to corundum, while retaining a brittle and sharp profile. Green silicon carbide, on the other hand, is produced using petroleum coke and high-quality silica as core ingredients, enhanced with salt as an additive, and smelted under high temperatures in a resistance furnace. It shares a similar hardness profile, positioned between corundum and diamond, with mechanical strength that exceeds corundum.

Black Silicon Carbide This material is notably brittle and sharp, offering excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Its Knoop hardness ranges from an impressive 3100 to 3280 kg/mm².

Green Silicon Carbide Esteemed for its remarkable properties, Green Silicon Carbide is a synthetic, brittle carborundum known for its exceptional thermal conductivity and high strength, maintaining integrity even at 1000ºC, standing 7.5 times stronger than Alumina.

Green silicon carbide is renowned for its extreme hardness, registering Mohs 9.4/2600 Knoop, placing it just after CBN and B4C in the hardness hierarchy.
