Black silicon carbide, crafted from the finest quartz sand, petroleum coke, and high-quality silica, undergoes a high-temperature smelting process in a resistance furnace. This results in a material with hardness nestled between corundum and diamond, boasting mechanical strength surpassing corundum, and attributes of brittleness and sharpness. Meanwhile, green silicon carbide is similarly manufactured with high-quality silica and petroleum coke, incorporating salt as an additive, and smelted at high temperature. It too exhibits hardness between corundum and diamond, with greater mechanical strength than corundum.

Black Silicon Carbide This material is noted for its brittleness and sharpness, coupled with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. It has a Knoop hardness ranging from 3100-3280 kg/mm².

Green Silicon Carbide A synthetic, brittle form of carborundum, this variant offers exceptional thermal conductivity and remarkable strength, maintaining its robustness even at temperatures reaching 1000ºC-7.5 times the strength of Alumina.

Renowned for its formidable hardness, green silicon carbide boasts a Mohs hardness of 9.4 and a Knoop hardness of 2600, standing just behind CBN and B4C.
