Product Description

Silicon carbide (SiC), also known as carborundum, is a hard chemical compound containing silicon and carbon. They are widely used for abrasives, refractory, metallurgy, and SiC wafer, etc. Grains of silicon carbide can be bonded together by sintering to form very hard ceramics that are widely used in applications requiring high endurance, such as car brakes, car clutches and ceramic plates in bulletproof vests. 

Silicon carbide is made from the mix ture of pure silica sand and green petroleum coke in ultra high power acheson furnace. Electric current is passe d through the conductor, bringing about a chemical reaction in which the carbon in the coke and silicon in the sand combined to form SIC and carbon monoxide gas. Silicon carbide is widely used in abrasives, metallurgy and refractory industries.
 

Application program
1. Silicon carbon be used as metallurgical deoxidizer and high temperature resistant material in smelting,
2. It can also be used as grinding material, can be used to manufacture grinding tools, such as grinding wheel, whetstone, grinding head.
