Silicon Carbide Our range includes both black and green silicon carbide, each offering unique properties for diverse applications. Black silicon carbide is crafted from quartz sand, petroleum coke, and premium silica, melted at soaring temperatures in a resistance furnace. It boasts a commendable hardness positioned between corundum and diamond, coupled with mechanical strength superior to corundum, yet remains brittle and sharply defined. Green silicon carbide, on the other hand, emerges from petroleum coke and premium silica as well, with salt as an additive, and is similarly smelted at high temperatures. It also enjoys a hardness between corundum and diamond, with a mechanical strength surpassing that of corundum, perfect for demanding applications.

Black Silicon Carbide possesses a remarkable brittleness and sharpness, combined with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Its Knoop hardness ranges impressively between 3100 and 3280 kg/mm².

Green Silicon Carbide is a man-made, brittle carborundum, renowned for its exceptional thermal conductivity and formidable strength that remains unaltered even at 1000ºC, boasting 7.5 times the strength of Alumina.

Characterized by its extreme hardness, green silicon carbide ranks at Mohs 9.4/2600 Knoop, trailing only behind CBN and B4C, making it an excellent choice for the toughest tasks.

Silicon carbide abrasives are impeccably suited for work on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, rock, leather, rubber, and more. Its versatility extends as a crucial material in refractory applications and as a metallurgical additive.
