Silicon Carbide(SiC) is manufactured through the fusion of pure silica sand and green petroleum coke within an ultra high power Acheson furnace. Here, electric currents initiate a critical chemical reaction, blending the carbon in the coke with the silicon in the sand to produce SiC and carbon monoxide gas. Esteemed for its versatility, silicon carbide finds immense application in the abrasives, metallurgy, and refractory industries.
